Pubs and Ponies - a day excursion from Southampton
In Southampton for just a day? Looking for a day shore excursion from the cruise ships that avoids the crowds? Perhaps you're looking for a taste of Hampshire before embarking? The ideal small group shore excursion, or pre or post cruise tour, this trip can be adapted to your needs.
"Pubs and Pones" is a perfect trip for the day visitor to Southampton - perhaps, after this, you may want to return to see some more!
We will pay a visit to the New Forest, visiting the graves of the creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the girl who gave Lewis Carroll the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, Alice Liddell. The New Forest was originally a vast hunting ground for William the Conqueror, but its historical and natural worth to the nation has now been highlighted by its National Park status.
Your (careful!) driver will navigate his way past the wild ponies and pigs, and seek out one of the area's outstanding local pubs, where we will have lunch (not included in cost)
In the afternoon, we will pay a visit to the historic market town of Romsey, with its beautiful thousand year old Abbey, before returning you to Southampton.
£95pp for 1-2 people; £85pp for 3-4 people; £75pp for 5-6 people.
